Stabilisation & anchoring
Some walls are too costly, too intertwined with structures, or simply too long to replace economically, yet still moving. Engineered stabilisation holds them: ground anchors or tiebacks drilled through the wall into stable material behind the failure plane, deadman anchors for timber systems, buttressing, or new counterfort elements. Every one of these is a designed solution, sized by an engineer from real soil information.

Timing
When it's needed
Progressive lean on high-consequence walls (those supporting driveways, pools, dwellings or neighbouring land) where replacement would demand major excavation of the very thing being protected. Also used as interim securing where a wall must stand safely while a staged rebuild is planned and approved.
A bulging or freshly moved retaining wall can collapse without further warning, particularly during or after heavy rain. Keep children, vehicles and work activity away from both the base and the retained edge, do not excavate at the toe, and get a structural assessment before anyone works close to it.
